emergency messaging
There is nothing more important than keeping our students, staff, and school communities safe. In times of an emergency, we will work directly with the Director of School Safety, district administration, local emergency response organizations such as law enforcement, the fire department, first responders, the health department, and others to determine response and appropriate communication.
We will notify you of school closure or delay via phone, text and email. Weather closure/delay information will also be shared on our website, social media, and the SchoolNow mobile app, as well as with local media outlets.
If there is an emergency at your child’s school, we will send information to all contacts in our system via phone, text, and email.
When you receive communication (absences, event reminders, general communication, critical communications) from the Infinite Campus Messenger system, the number displayed will be 8229. When you receive a message from the SchoolNow messenger system, the number displayed will be 229-860-2248. We recommend that you add this number to your phone contact list.
In the case of an emergency situation, we will override personal communication preferences in Infinite Campus Messenger and SchoolNow by using the URGENT messaging feature. However, to receive general messages from either system, you must select to receive text messages from our two systems – Infinite Campus Messenger (Parent Portal) and SchoolNow. Confirm that you have selected to receive text messaging (SMS) by checking your preference set up in each system.
Log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and click on “More” in the left-hand column. Navigate to “Family Information” and review your contact information. If you see an incorrect phone number or email, please update it in Infinite Campus, or contact the registrar at your child’s school to request an update.
