The Colquitt County Board of Education announces two new positions to strengthen the support given to all employees across the district.
Christy Dryden has been named the Assistant Director of Student Information and Instructional Technology. Christy is in her 25th year in education. She was an elementary school teacher in Louisiana before moving back to Colquitt County, where she taught at Doerun and Funston Elementary Schools. She served as an Academic Coach at Stringfellow Elementary in addition to her many years as an Instructional Technology Specialist. Christy is a Colquitt County High School graduate with her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Brewton Parker and a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southwestern. She earned her specialist degree in Media and Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia.
“I am eager to dive into this role, making a positive impact on student services and helping shape the future of instructional technology in ways that contribute to the growth and success of our students,” shared Dryden. As the Assistant Director, she will coordinate and provide leadership through comprehensive planning for all areas of Information Technology, including the student information system, state reporting including but not limited to FTE and student record, and centralized enrollment. Her responsibilities range from strategic and long-range planning and implementation of system-wide technology solutions to providing one-on-one and group training and support.
Megan Taylor has been named the Employee Relations Coordinator in the Human Resources Department. This new role for the district will focus on talent recruitment and retention. Megan will coordinate teacher recruiting pipelines, identify high-need employment areas, and develop plans to fill those positions. She will oversee professional development for non-certified staff, new employee experiences, and employee retention programs. “I am excited to begin helping our schools and district identify, recruit, and retain the best of the best,” shared Megan. “ We have much to offer an employee in the school district through our competitive pay, benefits, and professional development programs. I am honored to represent the district in recruiting new employees and helping to celebrate and honor our current employees through various programs.”
Megan moved to Moultrie in 2005 from Tallahassee, Florida. She has previous experience as a marketing specialist and a home health, hospice, and physician liaison for Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Megan earned her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Healthcare Administration from Albany State University. She is a parent volunteer for Moss Farms Diving, is on the Board of Directors for the Moultrie Service League, and is a 2023 High Potential Leaders Program member.
