Training Workshop Opportunity for Community Professionals in Service to Families and Children

The workshop "Drug Abuse Prevention Training for Community Professionals: Having Solution-Focused Conversations" provides a comprehensive approach to prevention, addiction, and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) by utilizing the Experiential Learning Cycle and Facilitative Training methodology.  Topics covered include Prevention, the Culture of Prevention, the Care Continuum, substance misuse, addiction as a brain disease, and CADCA’s 7 strategies for community change, as well as system change strategies like Emotional Intelligence and Integrative Medicine for pain management and health issues including SUD.  The training will be interactive, incorporating videos, exercises, discussions, and planning sessions to implement strategies effectively.  Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet for the session.

Goals of Training Workshop: Have a unified Drug Abuse Prevention “knowledge” & “solutions” forum for continued community, state, and national improvement regarding SUD prevention best practices across the care continuum.
