Colquitt County School District is proud to announce the launch of its fourth cohort in the Colquitt County Leadership Development Program (CCLDP), an initiative designed to cultivate leadership within the district and prepare future administrators and school leaders.
The 2025 cohort consists of 29 participants representing various roles across the district, including teachers, instructional support staff, and other school personnel. Each participant was self-nominated and then selected by their principal or department head as an aspiring leader with the potential to take on greater responsibilities within the Colquitt County School District.
The CCLDP was launched in 2022 under former Superintendent Ben Wiggins to develop internal leadership talent and provide structured opportunities for professional growth. Since its inception, the program has successfully rotated between assistant principals and teacher leaders, ensuring employees across all levels have access to leadership development.
Superintendent Daniel Chappuis reaffirmed the district's commitment to identifying and supporting future leaders: “Our goal is to build capacity within the district by recognizing and developing the talented individuals we already have. Through this program, we are committed to 'growing our own' leaders who will continue to shape the future of the district.”
Throughout the year, participants will engage in comprehensive leadership training focused on key areas such as school operations, curriculum and instruction, finance, human resources, special programs, and legal considerations in education. Additionally, they will have opportunities to collaborate with district leaders, shadow current administrators, and engage in mentorship experiences to deepen their understanding of school leadership.
The Colquitt County Leadership Development Program reflects the district's dedication to recruiting, developing, and retaining strong educational leaders. By investing in leadership development, Colquitt County Schools ensures a pipeline of highly qualified, committed, and visionary leaders to support students, educators, and the community for years to come.
