Pre-Kindergarten

Required documents- During the enrollment process parents were asked to provide several required documents. These included: Proof of age, Proof of residency, the GA PK Registration form, birth certificate, a Roster information form, Social Security Card, an Immunization form - 3231, the EED form DPH 3300 and a Category 1 document if applicable.
The first few weeks of school permanent records are checked. If any of these documents are missing or outdated, either Nurse Margie or I will call you.

What is a Category 1 Document? If you answered yes to any of the items on question 6 of the Roster Verification Form, then a copy of that document is needed in your child's permanent record.
Question 6- Does your child receive any of the following services? Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS), EBT/SNAP, SSI, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

Why does the school need Category 1 information about my child? This information is used anonymously in reports to the State of Georgia, and it helps determine how much funding schools receive. It is also used to identify those who may be eligible for CAPS.

What is CAPS? CAPS (Childcare and Parent Services) is a program you can apply for if you need help with the cost of afterschool childcare. Families requesting assistance with childcare costs should apply online at www.Gateway.ga.gov. Families will need to upload the CAPS Pre-kindergarten Referral Form that was sent home with their application.

Absenteeism- If your child is absent from school, please send a note upon their return. You may also call the front office, email, text, or send a message via Remind to your child's teacher. Children who miss 10 consecutive days without a medical, or other reasonable explanation, may be disenrolled from class.
Tardy/Early Check-out-It is important for children to be at school on time and to remain for the full day. Valuable instruction is missed when children are tardy or leave early. If chronic attendance problems are noticed, parents will be invited to meet with the school staff. If improvement is not noted, disenrollment will be considered.
