Packer X Information for
6th Graders
The PackerX Program is an advanced academic track for motivated students who thrive in a rigorous, challenging environment. Students accepted in 6th grade must be reassessed to continue in 7th grade. Here's what you need to help your child stay eligible or potentially qualify for next year and succeed.
- Excel in MAP Testing (ELA & Math): Students must score high on the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. These scores are crucial for demonstrating readiness for the PackerX Program’s advanced coursework.
- Perform Well on the GMAS: The GMAS evaluates how well students have mastered 6th-grade standards in core subjects. High scores show they are prepared for the challenges of 7th-grade PackerX courses.
- Maintain Strong Grades: Students must consistently achieve proficient grades in all academic subjects throughout 6th grade. This shows not only academic ability but also dedication and a strong work ethic.
- Follow PBIS Behavior & Attendance Expectations: Good behavior and regular attendance are key to academic success. Students should follow the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) guidelines and maintain strong attendance to stay on track in the program.
