The Packers Program offers a challenging and enriching educational experience designed to prepare 6th and 7th grade students for advanced coursework, including AP and Dual Enrollment, at the high school level. Through a focus on community, interdisciplinary learning, and the development of critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills, Packers Program students are empowered to excel academically while fostering creativity and innovation.
Program Expectations
Students in the Packers Program are required to:
- Participate in research-based and hands-on projects.
- Complete a Science and Engineering Fair Project during the fall semester.
- Be involved in at least one extracurricular activity (sports, clubs, or outside organizations).
- Demonstrate mastery of academic standards.
- Complete a minimum of 10 volunteer hours each semester.
High Standards and Code of Conduct
Packers Program students are held to a higher standard than their peers, adhering to the Colquitt County Schools’ Code of Conduct while also meeting the program’s specific expectations. Academic integrity is essential, and cheating, including the use of AI tools for assignments, is strictly prohibited.
Balanced Workload and Rigor
While Packers Program students are not assigned more work than other honors students, they can expect more rigorous assignments to prepare for future AP and Dual Enrollment coursework. The program also requires participation in extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and summer reading assignments.
