4th Graders
Williams Middle School’s PackerX Program is an advanced academic track for highly motivated students seeking a challenging middle school experience. Here’s what you and your child should focus on in 4th grade to potentially qualify:
- Excel on MAP and GMAS: Practice reading, writing, and math skills early using online resources, practice problems, and teacher support to achieve strong scores.
- Give Your Best Effort in All Classes: Stay engaged, complete assignments on time, and build good study habits to keep grades high and prepare for the PackerX Program.
- Follow PBIS Expectations: Show respect, responsibility, and readiness, meeting Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) standards to stay on track and be a role model.
- Attend School Regularly: Daily attendance is essential for staying up-to-date with lessons and maintaining steady academic progress.
What are the criteria for acceptance into the PackerX Program in Middle School?
Students complete a letter of interest and are accepted based on ranking from the following criteria:
- 5th Grade Benchmark 3 MAP ELA NPR
- 5th Grade Benchmark 3 MAP Math NPR
- 5th Grade Math GMAS
- 5th Grade ELA GMAS
- 5th Grade Benchmark 2 MAP ELA NPR
- 5th Grade Benchmark 2 MAP Math NPR
- Behavior Rating
- Teacher Recommendation
- Attendance
