Career exposure day

Dear Parents/Guardians
Willie J Williams will be hosting the annual Career Exposure Day on Thursday May 11, 2023.
The purpose of this is to expose the students to a variety of careers in Colquitt County in order
to jumpstart their thinking about the future. By preparing early, students will more likely be
college and career ready once they complete the required steps in order to graduate high
school. This year 7th graders will be participating in Career Exposure Day. However, we
cannot do this without your help.

We need volunteers to speak to different classes for 5-20 minutes about their career and the
path they took to attain it. We would also like for you to share the necessary skill/education
required to be in your career, your day to day responsibilities/duties, and any other pertinent
information you see fit to share with students. Career Exposure Day will occur between 9:00
a.m. - 10:00 a.m. If you, a family member, or a friend would be interested in volunteering to
speak about a career, please complete the form below and send it back to your child's Advisory
Teacher by Sunday, May 7. Volunteer selection will be on a first come basis. If you have any
questions, please feel free to contact me at roger.ketchum@colquitt.k12.ga.us, or call the
school (229) 890-6183 and ask for Mr. Roger Ketchum, Mrs. Stacey Ivey, or Mrs. Avis Smith. With
your help, we look forward to having another exciting and engaging Career Exposure Day!

Sincerely,
Mr. Jim Horne, Principal
WJW Middle School
