Leo Club's service project was about literacy and social emotional learning. So, Leos read the book "A Spot of Kindness" with a buddy at Stringfellow Elementary School then gifted them with their own copy of the book. Club members made buddies in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grades. Each teacher also received a large picture book for the classroom library. LEOs also talked with their buddies about ways to be kind and gave a wrist band with an encouraging statement.
The second part of their service projects was gathering and organizing food for needy families and Colquitt County Food Bank. Several Leos carried bags of food home to share with family and neighbors.
They also sorted used eyeglasses to recycle to people in countries that do not have vision clinics nor eyeglasses. These will be sent on missions trips.
