Marine Corp Junior ROTC Program
Colquitt County High School's Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps is a distinguised NAVAL Unite with over a hundred cadets. Retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel Paul Nagy and Gunnery Sergeant Emmett Bryant started our program in 1996. It is currenlty offered to students at Charlie A. Gray Junior High School and Colquitt County High School.

The Mission of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Progarm is to:
- Develop informed and responsible citizens.
- Develop Leadership Skills.
- Strengthen character.
- Promote understanding of the basic elements and requiremetns for national security.
- Help form habits of self-discipline.
- Develop respect for, and an understanding of the need for constituted authority in a democratic society.
The purpose of the MCJROTC program is to instill value of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsiblity, and a sense of accomplishment.
- Motivate students to learn.
- Foster a disciplined and constructive learning environment.
- Instill essential skills like time management, responsibility, goal setting, and teamwork.
- Drill teaches good discipline, enhances concentration and builds esprit de corps in a unit. Membership on the drill team requires a great deal of dedication and practice.
- Rifle is an exciting and rewarding sport yet demands the ultimate in discipline and concentration. It is a great opportunity to learn a sport which can be enjoyed the rest of your life.
- Raider is for those who enjoy being challenged physical and mentally. Raider Team pushed cadets to their physical limits while promoting teamwork.
- CyberPatriot inspires cadets toward careers in cybersecurity or other STEM disciplines critical to our nation's future.
- Community Service encourages cadets to take opportunities to serve the community through volunteer work.

- Leadership Camps are weeklong cadet leader development over the summer.
- Educational Field Trips visit battlefields, museums, and military bases.
- Team Skill Camps for Drill, Rifle, Raider, and CyberPatriot Team members.
- Activity Field Trips to celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday or conduct a Land Navigation Exercise.
- Drill Meets - Cadets can travel for district, regional, and national competitions.
- Rifle Meets - Cadets can travel for district, regional, and national competitions.
- Raider Challenge - Cadets can travel to state and regional competitions.
- CyberPatriot - Winning teams’ travel to the National Competition.
- Veterans’ Day Ceremony to recognize our veterans.
- Cadet Marine Corps Ball a formal dance organized by cadets. |
- Cadet Mess Night a formal dinner for cadets and special guests.
- Awards Ceremonies for cadet accomplishments throughout the school year.
- Company Change of Command passing of cadet leadership to next year's cadets.
- Memorial Day Ceremony to remember our fallen service members.
- MCJROTC Color Guard supports more than ten events a year as a service to our community.
