4-H is a service organization that emphasizes service to the club, the community, the country, and the world. 4-H is an organization that develops leadership abilities through projects, organization, philosophy, programs, learning situations, and working together to attain these abilities.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is the club sponsored by the Business Education Department. The FBLA involves nearly 250,000 members in over 13,000 chartered chapters in the United States, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Department of Defense Dependent Schools worldwide. Local chapters are chartered by the National Association and operate under the supervision of a state chapter.
Membership is open to students in grades 10-12 who are enrolled or have been previously enrolled in a business or business-related course. The student shall accept the purpose of FBLA, subscribe to its creed, demonstrate a willingness to contribute to meaningful school-community relations, and possess qualities for employment.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a Career and Technical Student Organization that functions as an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum and operates within the school system. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues. Through participation in Competitive Events, becoming involved in community service opportunities, student leadership, and attending leadership conferences, members develop real world skills, explore Career Pathways, and become college- and career-ready.
1. What is National Honor Society (NHS)?
NHS is a student organization that strives to recognize outstanding students, promote service and leadership, and develop the character of its members
2. What are the Four Pillars of NHS?
-Scholarship is more than a report card; it represents a dedicated commitment to lifelong learning.
-Service represents the choice of stepping outside oneself to meet the needs of others, fueled by an unwavering passion for a cause, heartfelt empathy for others, or driven by personal circumstances.
-Leadership is more than a position or title; it means embodying the spirit of initiative, innovation, and influence.
-Character is the essence of who we are. It is about valuing diversity, building relationships grounded in empathy, and exhibiting qualities like perseverance, respect, integrity, and honesty.

3. Who qualifies to apply?
Sophomores:
Have a weighted GPA of 95 or above
Must have taken/scheduled for 6 Honors, AP, or Academic Dual-Enrollment Courses by Spring of Sophomore year
Juniors/Seniors
Have a weighted GPA of 95 or above
Must have taken 9 Honors, AP, or Academic Dual-Enrollment Courses
4. Does being 'invited to apply' mean I’m in?
Being invited to apply does not guarantee becoming a member. Students must make it through the entire application process and be inducted.
5. The NHS constitution has different requirements than our chapter. Why?
NHS sets national MINIMUM standards. CCHS has elected to have more rigorous requirements. The national minimum is a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
6. If I join, what are my obligations?
-Pay dues
-Complete service hours
- Current Year- 10 hours
- Next Year- 16 hours
- Spring Inductees will be required to complete half the hours - Attend meetings
7. What does the application process look like?
- Invitations to apply will be sent out in January, including the application form.
- Applications must be submitted by the deadline; late applications will not be accepted.
- A committee will review the applications and decide who qualifies for membership.
- Students will be notified of their qualification status. - If students do not meet the selection criteria, they will be informed of the areas they need to improve for future applications.
8. What qualifies for leadership?
Examples
• FCCLA President - Plan the club meetings and trips and relay information to the other members.
• Choir Class President – Lead the choir in warm-up and lead when the teacher is not present.
• Lead Barista – Train new employees.
• Sports Captain- Leads on-field and off-field activities, meets with coaches to make decisions, organizes activities
Non-Examples
• Yearbook Staffer – Taking pictures and putting up advertisements around school.
• Cashier - Take money and make sure the order of the food is correct.
• Sports Team Leader – Motivate the teammates
9. What qualifies for service?
Examples
• Volunteering at nursing homes calling Bingo
• Packing bags for Hope House
• Volunteering at elementary Fall Festivals
• Cooking/Serving at the EMC Banquet
• Assisting Neighbors in storm clean-up
• Missionary Trips
Non-Examples
• Singing in a choir
• Backpacking overseas • Performing in the musical
• Babysitting
• Cleaning up own grandparents’ home
• Any activities you are compensated for
10. What happens if my grades drop?
You will be sent before the faculty committee and likely be placed on academic suspension for one grading period. If your GPA does not recover, you may be removed from NHS.
11. What happens if I get in trouble?
You will be sent before the faculty committee, which will make a determination on a case-by-case basis.
12. What happens if I don’t fulfill my obligations to the club?
You will be sent before the faculty committee, and they will make a determination on a case-by-case basis. If you are removed and have already received your stole, you will not be required to return it, but you will not be allowed to wear it at graduation.
