Attendance is mandatory during the tryout period to make the team. If a student-athlete is not present, he/she can't be evaluated. Concurrent participation with a 7th-Varsity Packer baseball team and a travel team is not allowed until the season has concluded (playoffs included).
All persons trying out must wear some sort of athletic pants and athletic top. Cleats are not required but are recommended to increase performance in certain drills. High school baseball tryouts are typically cold so be prepared.
Must be eligible by the GHSA Constitution and Bylaws. The athletic advisor will submit an eligibility report for all players. Once a student-athlete makes one of the 3 teams for 9th-12th grades, they will be held to an academic expectation of 80+ in all classes. Accountability measures will be consistently enforced during the school year.
The Colquitt County Packer Baseball Family expects its members to model exemplary behavior in the classroom, halls, on the field and off, as well as in the community. Any behavior decision that shines negatively on the CCPBF will be dealt with, and could impact an athlete's role in the program.
Any student-athlete interested in trying out for baseball will be given an evaluation period to do so once their prior commitment to their winter sport is complete.
Days off during spring break are few and far between. The expectation is that any student-athlete who is part of the CCPBF will be present for ALL practices and games during spring break.
