AP Scores Improve

Our students' performance on the AP exams has shown remarkable improvement this year, and it is a testament to the hard work of our AP teachers, their dedication, and commitment to excellence.

Some of our AP Teachers were honored at this week's board meeting. Pictured are Karen Summerlin, Dana Cook, Tammy Maxwell, Christie Ariail, with Dr. Chris Merritt, CCHS Principal.

Here are some highlights:

-Calculus AB: A phenomenal increase from 80% in 2023 to a perfect 100% in 2024, far exceeding the global average of 64%.

-Chemistry: Consistently outstanding, with 100% in both 2023 and 2024, surpassing the global average of 75%.

-English Literature: An impressive increase from 64% in 2023 to 100% in 2024, significantly higher than the global average of 72%.

-Government: A significant jump from 27% in 2023 to 76% in 2024, outperforming the global average of 73%.

-Physics 1: An increase from 47% in 2023 to 57% in 2024, surpassing the global average of 46%.

-Pre-Calculus: A great first year, outperforming the global average by 18%.

-World History: Improved from 53% in 2023 to 73% in 2024, above the global average of 64%.

These achievements are a clear reflection of the effective teaching strategies and the extra effort our AP teachers have put in.
